"What is a private opinion you would be reluctant to share or never share publicly?" The poignant and intentional question confronts personal censorship and the curated perceptions we share with the world to maintain interpersonal relationships, reputations, and, sometimes, livelihoods. Can we discuss anything anymore? And what are the potential effects this has on the self and our relationships with others?
A Box and Book of Honest Answers allowed folks to open up honestly and maintain an anonymous, non-judgmental point of view. People came out of the spaces feeling relieved, cathartic, and appreciative, which was an uplifting and positive byproduct of the study.
The answers in the book are from twenty-four recipients of various races, gender, work, and age.
